NDRF Planning for Humanitarian Response to the Bhotekoshi Flood
As part of its planning and preparedness for the Bhotekoshi flood response, the Nepal Disaster Resilience Foundation (NDRF) held a brief meeting to discuss immediate humanitarian support and longer-term disaster resilience initiatives.
Advisors and members of NDRF—including Prof. Dr. Pramod Bahadur Shrestha, IGP Shailendra Shrestha (Retd.), Jagat Bahadur Pokharel,
Advisor of British Hampshire Police Shibaji Shrestha , Disaster Expert DIG Suresh Shrestha and General Secretary Prakash Shrestha—came together to provide their valuable advice, experience, and guidance.
Based on the discussions and guidance received, NDRF has decided to prioritize medical-supplies support to the flood-affected areas, recognizing the immediate humanitarian needs of affected communities.
In addition, NDRF will initiate a Psychological First Aid (PFA) programme at the earliest possible opportunity and develop a longer-term psychological counselling service for affected victims and first responders, with the aim of supporting their mental well-being and psychosocial health during recovery.
NDRF remains committed to providing professional, compassionate, and sustainable humanitarian support to communities affected by disasters.
Together, let us turn Risk to Resilience.
